Welcome to my CG showreel, a compilation of personal projects and competitions I’ve pursued over the years. With a primary focus on modelling and animation, I’ve found my creative home in Blender – a free open-source 3D CG and visualization software.

Within this reel, you’ll find a diverse array of scenes brought to life through a blend of pre-made models and ones I’ve created myself. I’ve delved into the intricacies of material creation and texture mapping, adding depth and realism to my creations.

To elevate the visual storytelling, I’ve composited my scenes using software such as Nuke and After Effects. This showreel is not just a showcase of my technical proficiency but a passion for bringing imagination to life in the digital realm.

I have developed my skills in feature film retitles, having worked on a diverse range of projects spanning from action-packed films like Sylvester Stallone’s ‘Escape Plan 3‘ to charming children’s movies such as ‘A Wizard’s Tale’.

In these projects, I often utilised clean plates and existing title treatments, seamlessly integrating them with the film. However, there are often times where it is required to perform intricate tasks such as tracking shots, rotoscoping, and meticulously matching elements or fonts to closely resemble the original title.

My experience in this area has equipped me with the precision and attention to detail needed to deliver high-quality retitles that seamlessly blend with the overall aesthetic of the film.

Music Videos

In 2017, I entered the ‘Adobe Make the Cut’ competition, which celebrated the 25th anniversary of Adobe Premiere Pro. The music and footage were provided by both Imagine Dragons and Adobe, with a brief to cut a video for the song ‘Believer’.

Throughout the creative process, I took a methodical approach, initially organising footage into a ‘Stringout’ timeline to review all available shots. From there, I curated a ‘Selects’ timeline featuring the best footage, further refining it into themed stringout timelines. I then synchronised the footage with the provided track, aligning the visuals with key moments in the track.

Moving to the assembly stage, I experimented with various story variations before refining the final locked edit.

A standout feature of the video was the incorporation of eye replacement, morphing effects, and subtle visual effect transitions, such as transitioning from a piece of paper onto the lead singer’s tattoo. Additionally, I introduced subtle camera shakes during the boxing scenes to enhance the impact of each punch and hit.

Participating in the competition provided invaluable skills, challenging me to think creatively within the constraints of using only Adobe products. With no opportunity for reshoots or alternate takes, I honed my ability to work with the provided footage creatively and efficiently. The competition reinforced the importance of maintaining a highly organised workflow. By implementing a structured approach, I ensured each rough cut remained coherent and aligned with the narrative vision I wanted to tell.

In March 2016, I played a crucial role in both filming and post-production for the music video “Meri Bhain” by Panjabi MC. I assisted in filming green screen elements and B-roll footage, ensuring optimal conditions by assisting with lighting setup, camera positioning, and directing as needed.

I served as the lead editor and VFX Artist for the video, and one of the challenges we encountered was maintaining a cohesive narrative flow. To address this, we strategically incorporated stock footage sourced from platforms such as Pond5 and VideoHive, guided by our specific storytelling objectives we sought visuals that complemented and enhanced the narrative.

During the post-production process, I opted for Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects due to their seamless integration and dynamic link capabilities. This allowed for efficient collaboration between editing and VFX, enabling us to apply effects seamlessly and maintain a streamlined workflow. Similarly, by keeping color grading within the Adobe ecosystem, we ensured consistency and efficiency throughout the post-production process.

This project for Panjabi MC provided invaluable experience, encompassing all aspects from filming to post-production.

As the lead editor and VFX artist, I undertook a range of responsibilities, including tasks such as Rotoscoping, Motion Tracking, and Matte Painting using tools like The Foundrys Nuke and Adobe After Effects. Throughout the production process, I collaborated closely with Panjabi MC, from the initial concept to the final creation, ensuring the edit and VFX elementd met our collective vision.

In terms of software and gear, the project was edited using Adobe Premiere Pro, with color correction and grading also performed within the same programme. VFX elements were created using Adobe After Effects, The footage was captured using a combination of equipment, including the Sony A7S Mk II, DJI Osmo, and Apple iPhone 6 Plus.

To enhance the visual narrative, we incorporated stock footage sourced from platforms such as Pond5, VideoHive, Shutterstock, and VideoBlocks, as well as stock audio from AudioJungle and Pond5.

This project provided invaluable experience in managing various aspects of production, from filming to post-production, and highlighted my ability to collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues to bring this video to life resulting in it amassing 1.3million views in its first few weeks.
